Maxwell Foisey

Parker Scholar

Biography

Maxwell Foisey is a PhD student at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), working with Kole Roybal, PhD, Director of the PICI Center at UCSF. His previous work has centered around generating novel immunotherapies for use in cancer. During his undergrad, he worked primarily on developing cancer vaccines. Later, he worked in industry focusing on using genome engineering tools to generate cell therapies like chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells. His current work aims to expand the applications for synthetic receptors in human immune cells.
