Statement 02.09.18 Share on Twitter Share on Facebook Share on LinkedIn The Parker Institute Applauds the Senate’s Agreement for Increased NIH Funding The Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy fully supports the Senate’s agreement of a $2 billion increase in funding for the National Institutes of Health. In our recent opinion piece in STAT News, we called for a renewed commitment to federal funding for biomedical research. This increase demonstrates that advancing scientific research and discovery is a top priority for our nation’s leaders. We applaud the Senate for taking this step, and we recognize that we must all play a role if we want continue to be a world leader in innovation. It is critical that all sectors from the biomedical ecosystem — industry, government, academia and philanthropy sponsored research and development — invest in research to get profound breakthrough treatments to more patients faster.
